Search the CCHAL Website: Financial Records, Assessments, Self-Help Centers

Looking for information on
- Emergency Assessments?
- HOA Elections?
- Whether HOAs can charge homeowners to retrieve financial records?
- How to find a free county Self-Help Center?
Then try the white SEARCH BOX on the CCHAL website to find what you’re looking for: https://calhomelaw.org/
We’ve revamped the BOX so that when you enter a SEARCH term it will call up material and highlight it in RED.
Some material is on website pages that
- are public/free – meaning you don’t have to register – e.g. pages on discrimination in HOAs
- ask you to register as an Online Member
- are for people who want to do a deep dive into an issue, e.g. into studying small claims cases filed by homeowners who won in court. These pages require a donation only because of the effort it takes CCHAL to find these examples, to pay to retrieve them from the courts, and to prepare them for posting.
REMEMBER: the CCHAL website homepage LOOKS like the old one, but the infrastructure has been re-built, so please re-register with fresh user-name and password on the new site.
We are still refining/editing/adding to the re-built website, so let us know if you find broken links or bugs or are looking for a topic. Email us at [email protected] and we’ll fix problems as soon as we can.
Again: if you run into problems JOINING US, do email
[email protected] and we will help you.
And here’s the Center’s 2024 calendar to post on your refrigerator or office bulletin board. You can download and print it. https://calhomelaw.org/home/press-room-newsletter/
