DID YOU PHONE YET? Today’s Sacramento Bill Makes Board Directors Personally Liable

Yes – you read it right.
AB1410 – to be voted on TODAY in Sacramento – contains a “Code of Conduct” that board directors will have to sign. It is a thinly-veiled attempt to shift legal liability for wrongdoing from the association itself and onto homeowners serving as directors and to cancel their insurance coverage as directors under the association’s policies.
If anything will stop homeowners from running for board seats — or serving on boards — this Code of Conduct is IT.
TAKE ACTION NOW — AS SOON AS YOU FINISH READING THIS — AND MAKE TWO PHONE CALLS:
- to the AUTHOR of AB1410 (Freddie Rodriguez of CHINO) and demand that he withdraw his bill. PHONE 916.319.2052 AND
- to the chair of the Senate Judiciary committee which will vote on the bill TODAY Tom Umberg. His PHONE is 916.651.4034 and urge a NO! on AB1410
